Can you replicate human characteristics on chips???

What we take in from the eye and respond through our body parts has information which can match upto the processing prowess of supercomputers today.

Ever wondered about manipulating pixels to suit your needs? Imagined having the Redeye vision of the Terminators?

These theatrics can be made real with the wonders of handling images. Join us to learn how to detect objects, motion corners edges and maybe even your own face... if u can face it...

With This workshop Say “HELLO WORLD!” to the world of robotics...

HRWIE is a dual certified workshop empowering all the technical minds and robotics enthusiast with all the basics concepts of robot designing, component knowledge, programming integrities and future technology pertaining to robots. The workshop is the media through which participating students will acquire all the fundamentals of robotics while working on the HRWIE robotics kit.

Due to requests from participants we have reduced the charges of takeaway webcam from workshop charges, you need to carry your laptops to the workshop in case you require a webcam we will arrange it for you. please mail us regarding this.

Web Based Training

A forum with weekly updated text lectures on introduction to robotics will be posted on the web with access rights granted to participants of this workshop. With a simple forum interface we have interaction with our experts for any doubts and queries which you might have.

During Synapse

Module 1

Session 1

  • Wired Robot - Robots controlled with an attached wire onto the switches used to move the robot for specific task.

Session 2

  • Wireless Robotics (RC Control) -“Robots controlled through a remote .Now you need not move along with the robot while its navigation

Session 3

  • Computer Controlled Robotics - Use of your keyboard or mouse to control your robot movements’ .Unique blend of computer technology with electrical and moving machine.

Session 4

  • Speech Controlled Robotics - Robots controlled through your commands that mean it will recognise your voice to perform activities.

Session 5

  • Internet Controlled / Mobile Control Robotics - “Imagine robots controlled through computer and mobile phones” Control your robot through Internet while having the view using the webcame on your computer screen and control your robot through GPRS enabled mobile phones .including learn basic concepts of server and web scripting.

Module 2

Session 1

  • Introduction to Computer vision: discussion on vision sensors and different cameras available. We will explore the application of vision in robotics and mechatronic systems.
  • Digital Image Processing in Matlab: We will start from the basics of Matlab and after that only we will explore the Image Acquisition and Image Processing toolboxes.
  • Image Acquisition and Processing: Here we will discuss the data structure of image acquired. The understanding for pixels, color spaces, vector indexing and matrix indexing will be developed in this module.
  • Image Manipulation in Matlab: We will deal with Adjusting image intensity, Image histogram equalisation, Using arithmetic functions to enhance images, Thresholding, Edge Detection, Template matching, Distinguishing colors, Shape Detection, frequency domain filtering and convolution.

Session 2

  • Parallel Port Programming & Machine Control: The final aim is to build various vision based machines.
  • Robots that will be covered on this day include (apart from discussing any ideas from the participants)
    1. Ball Following Robot
    2. Line Following Robot
    3. Reach The Goal

Session 3

  • Advanced image pre-processing :- A Line detection, Corner detection, Maximally stable extremal regions
  • Advanced image processing which will cover blob tracking, motion identification and detection

Session 4

  • Implementation of KLT(Kanade-Lucas-Tomasi) feature tracking algorithm in embedded hardware algorithm.

Rules

Participants having a valid ID card of their respective educational institutions are eligible for HRWIE.

A team may consist of a maximum of 2 members. Participants from different colleges may form a team. In case of teams, only the team leader should register on the Synapse web site.(Team is to be made for your comfort i.e for using test bots in KLT algorithm )

There are no pre requisites for it. But your active participation in web based training is advised.

Due to limited number of seats we may have a questionare based short listing criterion which will be mailed to you as and when required. (if by chance we are not able to accommodate you and you have already made the payment full refund along with obligatory Thanks will be sent to you within 5 days).

All participants should be present in all the sessions. Failing this, no certificate shall be awarded to the participant.
