Vista
Grab a camera, convince some undiscovered actors and "get busy".
Vista is an event in which you can let loose your imaginations, capture your ideas into clips, and produce a piece of work that may enthrall one and all. Vista is a platform for all the unconventional movie makers who believe in showing their fervor.
Event Structure
There are two categories in this event.
Category 1
You can select any theme that you like, but the theme that you select must be mentioned. You have to choose a theme, get the script, get together a team and make a movie.
Judging criteria for this category includes:
- Innovation
- Creative theme
- Script writing
- Acting
- Cinematography
- Camera shots and angles
- Editing camera work
- Background score, special effects
- Overall presentation
Guidelines
- Maximum 5 participants in a team. But there is no restriction on the number of actors.
- Video length should not exceed 15 minutes. Longer than limit will lead to negative marks.
Category 2
- No script no cast
- This category requires you to make videos like a documentary. You have to just choose a theme. Capture the clips on it and make a coherent video. Themes can be chosen according to taste.
- Your theme may raise any social issue like slums, waste management, may cover the natural beauty, can be on a tourist place, etc.
Judging criteria includes
- Relevance of theme
- Camera shots and angles
- Editing camera work
- Background score
- Presentation
Guidelines
- Maximum 3 participants in a team.
- You have to mention the coverage area and time of the video capture in the video itself.
- Video length should not exceed 10 minutes. Longer than limit will lead to negative marks.
Rules
- All undergraduate/ postgraduate students registered for any course are eligible for participation.
- Single person can?t be part of a team in more than one movie in a single category. Although he/she can do acting in more than one. Anyone can participate in both categories, but can?t participate in more than one in a single category.
- A document explaining the theme must be submitted with the movie.
- Video can be in any language. If other than Hindi or English is used than subtitles must be included.
- Video may contain some clippings of movies and music bits can also be used.
- The video should not contain any obscene language or anything that may hurt religious sentiments.
- Video can be made using any camera.
- Software like swish, flash, Maya can be used as add-ons to your work.
- Movies submitted must be in a format playable on Windows Media Player/ Real Player.
- CD's submitted will not be returned.
- Judges decision will be final.
- Disobeying any of the above rules lead to disqualification.
- Judges' decision will be final.
- The coordinators reserve the right to alter any rule with regard to the event and the same shall be updated on the website regularly.
Submission details
- Participants should send a CD containing their movie and a document explaining their theme. They should send a copy of their College ID cards along with the CD.
- Participants can also submit their movies by uploading them on any database sites like You-tube, etc. They would then have to send an email containing a link of the movie, along with the document explaining their theme and an image of their College ID cards as attachments to vista.synapsenova@gmail.com. Subject of the mail should contain submission <team_name> <movie_name>
- Submission can also be made personally to any of the event coordinators in a CD.
