Event Structure

The event has two categories:

Category 1

This phase of the event invites entries from all of you. In this phase participants are expected to send any of their photos clicked by them which they feel can attract attention. They can capture natural beauty, road life, life & people, campus close-ups etc. There is no limit on the type of photo which they can capture. You need not to be on campus for this category.

Category 2

This category will be totally independent from the first. It will be held during the three days of synapse. Prime motive of this phase will be to capture the festivity and craziness of synapse. The photos for this category must be from synapse 2010.

  • Creativity/Originality
  • Cropping
  • Angle of photography

Rules

  • Submissions can be either in group or on individual basis.
  • Maximum team size allowed is of 2.
  • Maximum photos per team is 4 for category 1 and 6 for category 2.
  • Photos should have a minimum resolution of 640*480.
  • The team needs to register themselves and get a registration ID which will be used in judging process.
  • No obscene photography shall be accepted
  • Every entry must have full details regarding the name of participants, registration ID, college name, location where images is clicked etc. An entry without these details is liable for disqualification.
  • Use of photo editing tools is not allowed.
  • Photos must be genuine work of participants. If it is found to be a copy or others work or from the web, it will be eliminated and the team shall be disqualified from all categories. This applies even if the winner has been announced.
  • The coordinators reserve the right to alter or change any of the above rules.
  • In case of any discrepancy, judge's decision will be final.

Schedule

Category 1

Deadline for submission is 4th February, 12 noon.
No. of prizes- 3

Category 2

It will start from 5th of February 12 noon.
Deadline for submission is 7th February, 5 PM.
No. of prizes- 2 + some other like craziest, funniest photo of synapse.

Submissions

  1. Participants should send their photos to synapshot10@gmail.com with subject as <registrationID_category>. Ex- synapshot001_1 for category 1.
  2. You must mention title, time, date, place and so on about the photo.
  3. If you are sending more than one photo then number the photos, attach them and give details for each of them separately.
  4. Don't forget to mention your contact details for further communication.
