Ragnarock

Need something to set your nerves on fire, your breath caught in your chest ,your heart thumping out of your body, your head banging and your mind in a state of frenzy ?? Team Ragnarock responds in unison!!  The stage is set for a night of unbelievable guitar solos, rocking drum beats, and thundering bass as the crowd will transform into a sea of head-bangers willing to surrender their souls to the mind-numbing music of the ultimate Guitar Gods !!

Event Structure

On the day of the event prelims would be held to choose 8 bands that would play at the main event. The main event would consist of these participating bands competing for prizes. There would be one or two headlining bands depending on budget constraints.

Rules

Prelims

  • Teams are expected to register online at least two weeks before the event
  • There May be a few wild card entries. This is done only to encourage and give an opportunity to college bands.
  • The teams are supposed to bring their own guitars, processors leads and their Drum Sticks. The College would be providing DRUM KIT, amps and monitors. The teams can bring their own CYMBALS in case they are not satisfied by the default ones.
  • The teams would be given 20 (15 + 5) minutes to empty stage inclusive of sound check.
  • The decision of the judges shall be deemed to be final. No objections or questions to the judge’s decisions shall be entertained. The no. of bands which will be shortlisted for the final will be decided based on the time duration allotted.

 

Main Events

  • Rules regarding equipment shall be same as the Prelims.
  • The teams would be given 30 (25 + 5) minutes to empty stage inclusive of sound check (time slots may be modified later on if need be).But the time limit will be enforced very strictly coz time is of the essence.
  • It is mandatory for each band to play at least one Original Composition.
  • The decision of the judges shall be deemed to be final. No objections or questions to the judge’s decisions shall be entertained.
  • In case of a tie in the final result equal prize money will be given as our budget projection makes us capable of doing so
  • The RagnaRock 2009 team may change the rules at anytime.
  • Breach of any rule may result to disqualification of the band.
