Kriti means `A work of art' or creation. Re-create an idea or re-interpret an idea to give it a new sense in the present world is what Re-kriti is all about. Participants have to choose an idea from the given list of ideas, add value to it (or re-create it) and then implement it.

Re-kriti: Students pursuing any graduate course are eligible to participate in this event.
Re-kriti Jr.: School Students up to class 12th are eligible.

Round 1 Result

Re-kriti Jr.

In our daily life, we face a ton of problems which may be potentially solved by a creative idea. Participants have to implement/propose any technological or scientific systems which would help in preventing or reducing the problems with the environment.

Rekriti-2011 offers prizes worth Rs. 30000 to its winners.
Exposure to expert judges from NIF.
Financial aid for some selected teams.

Rekriti Jr.

Prizes worth Rs. 15000 would be provided to the winners.

Event Phases

Re-kriti

Students have to select an idea from the list of ideas given and register themselves by mentioning their details.
If the students need any extra information regarding the idea they would like to work on, they would have to sign on a non-disclosure agreement(NDA) after which they would be given the extra information regarding the idea.
After selecting the idea students have to work on the value addition plan and should request for financial requirement if any.(Value addition plan: need to see the problems in the present technology and solve that problem or if there is no problem, how can it be made better)
First round of filtering is done by NIF depending upon the value addition plan submitted by the team.
Finalization of support and release of funds to whosoever was selected in first round.
Students selected from first round need to submit the final documentation of the working prototype.
Second round of iteration is done by NIF based upon this report submitted by the teams.
Finalists of second round are invited to give final presentation in DA-IICT during SYNAPSE on 25th feb, 2011.

Re-kriti Jr.

Students who are interested in participating should register themselves on SYNAPSE website and then send their personal details and a brief description about the problem they are working on to rekriti2011@gmail.com. The subject of the mail should be Re-kriti Jr_TeamName. The mail should be of .doc format and should contain the following details:

Reason for selection of problem statement

A few line summary of what the solution would do (Simple essays, write-ups on problems like population, corruption, global warming, unemployment etc will not be accepted as well as common projects/concepts (from text books/other make yourself books) like hydel power project, rain water harvesting, water level indicators, vermi compost/vermiwash, letter box alarm and other alarms, using turbines to generate energy, using solar energy to do various things, electricity generation through waste batteries/dung/transport/waves or earthquake alarm).

Last date of registration and submission of problem statement: 10th Feb 2011.
The list of selected teams would be declared by 15th Feb 2011.
Selection of teams for final presentation would be done based on the problem statement and approach to solve the problem.
Selected teams should present their idea in DA-IICT in presence of NIF panel.

Teams will be encouraged to show prototypes/models in the final round presentation (judgment would be based on complexity of the idea). It is not compulsory to show the prototype but if done it would be considered. Final presentation would be on 26th Feb 2011.

Rules of the event

Re-kriti

Maximum team size allowed is 4.
Teams should register for the event by mailing the idea along with their team name.
Any change in the dates mentioned will be updated in the SYNAPSE website. Participants are requested to keep a check on the important dates.
Both rounds selections solely depend upon NIF and their decision is final.
For any further queries regarding the event and event structure, you can mail to any of the coordinators mentioned on the website.
Accommodation would be provided for the selected teams and travel expenses (or a part of) would be met.

Re-kriti Jr.

Same as Re-kriti except there is only one phase of selection in which the decision of judges is final.
Projects guided by students or parents will not be accepted. If at a later stage it is observed that the project is guided by parents or teachers then the team will be disqualified then and there itself.
Sending a mail regarding the details of the idea without registering themselves on SYNAPSE website will not be considered. Such group will be disqualified.

Results of First round selection-28th January 2011.
Finalization of support and release of funds to whosoever was selected in first round- 30th January 2011.
Last date for submission of complete reports-15th February 2011.
Results of second round of selection- 18th February 2011.
Final presentation 25th February 2011.
