• The Hip Hop Street

  B-boying , popping , locking , Mcing , rapping , Djing , grafiti #the list is endless. Have you also been bitten by the Hip-Hop bug then join us in "the hip hop street" which is going to mesmerize the crowds this time around in Synapse.Have you got in you too show the world how "hip" you are and can you make the crowds "hop" to your beats. If you are upto the challenge the "the hip hop street" is the place to be this Synapse.

  Event Structure

  The event will take place out in the open in the streets of the institute to truly capture the spirit of hip-hop. The event will be divided in two disciplines:

  • B-Boying(Street Dance): Let your body groove in the endless forms of Hip-Hop and show the world the crazy side of yours. This is a dance competition to check your metre in the various hip-hop dance styles like B-boying , popping , locking break dancing.
  • MC'ing(Rapping) : Do you have it in you to make the world listen to you when you rap your brains out then this is the place to be. In this competition we find the best rapper amongst us .

  Rules

  General for the entire event:

  1. Props should be removed from the location immediately after the performance.
  2. Pre-recorded music should be brought in a CD/DVD or a pen drive in .cda or .mp3 format only. (Other formats may not be supported on the computer - use them at your own risk)
  3. Any kind of fluid or flame is not allowed on stage.
  4. There shouldn't be any swear word in the music. Participants shouldn't make any bad gestures during their performance.
  5. Obscenity of any kind is not allowed and will lead to immediate disqualification.
  6. The decision of the judges shall be final and binding.
  7. No LIMIT on the number of teams from a college.
  8. Teams should bring their own portable music systems for Practice
  9. Negative Marking for exceeding the time limit.

  B-Boying(Street Dance)

  1. There might be elimination round if the number of participating teams are high.
  2. The time limit is 10 minutes end to end.
  3. JUDGING CRITERION: Synchronization, Choreography, Usage of props, Energy level, Costumes, Overall impact

  MC'ing(Rapping)

  The time limit is 5 minutes.
